Amaranth ‘Heart Leaf’ is an annual plant to 80cm. Leaves have red heart shapes in centre. Eat young leaves fresh or cook as spinach. Sprout seed or grow as microgreens. Seed can also be eaten like poppy (or similar) seeds. Seeds feely, but is easy to remove if growing where not wanted. Often sold in Australia as “Red Amaranth”.
