Description
Aquilegia vulgaris
Aquilegia is a traditional cottage garden plant, also known as ‘Granny’s Bonnets’ or ‘Columbine’. Short-lived perennial to 80cm, has fern-like foliage and bonnet-shaped flowers. Most likely to be black flowers, but other colours may be present. Black-flowering aquilegia is more tender than the white variety, and produces less seed. May be self-seeding.
