Description
Bee Balm, also known as ‘Bergamot’ or “Oswego Tea”, is a perennial herb, 90–110cm tall, up to 90cm wide. It has edible leaves which have an earthy, mint-like flavour, making a refreshing tea. The flowers are also edible. The flowers are held on long stems, up to 60cm in length, so they make great cut flowers, lasting 7–10 days in a vase. The leaves and flowers are used in traditional medicine. The flower heads, made up of many nectar-rich tubular flowers, attract pollinators and beneficial insects.
