Brassica oleracea var. capitata
Cabbage ‘Danish Ballhead’ is an heirloom from 1887. Blue-green, small, ball-shaped heads to 17cm across. Stores well. Use cooked or raw. All cabbages are gross feeders so they need a rich, well-drained soil. Feed every two weeks with liquid organic fertiliser. Protect from slugs, snails, cabbage moth and white cabbage butterfly.
