Description

Cornflower ‘Mauve Ball’ is an annual to 80cm; may need staking. Mauve flowers attract beneficial insects. Medicinal plant. Drought and frost tolerant. Grows in poor soils.Cornflowers will grow in poor soil with minimal watering. However, they prefer full sun, moderately fertile soil and dep watering in dry periods. The soil must be well-drained.HARVESTING SEEDAllow the flowers to remain on the plant until they are brown and dry.Cut off the stems, and place the flowers heads upside-down in a paper bag to dry for a minimum of two weeks before separating the seed from the chaff. Some of the seeds will have fallen out of the flowers naturally.
