Description
Endive ‘Tres Fine’, literally ‘very thin’, is a French heirloom variety. It is a small salad vegetable with narrow, curled leaves, which have a mild yet bitter flavour. This is a good variety for baby leaves, which are harvested around 30 days after transplanting. Endive can also be used as a cooked vegetable. This variety is best grown in cool weather; it is inclined to bolt in warm weather.
Endives can cross-pollinate with each other. If growing for seed, it is best to let only one variety flower at a time.
