Japanese Raisin Tree is a deciduous tree which grows 10-30 metres. Small, cream-coloured flowers in Spring are followed by small fruit. The fruit itself is not eaten; the swollen stems at the base of the fruit are eaten. These stems can be stored for up to two months. The flavour is similar to pears. Also known as “Kempo Nashi”.
