Description
Lettuce ‘Oakleaf Green’ is a popular loose-leaf variety. It has green leaves that look like oak tree leaves. This variety does well in hot weather. Use as baby leaves from about 35 days, pick older leaves as needed or wait until the whole plant comes to maturity. Succession sow every three weeks to increase harvest length.
All varieties of lettuce, whether looseleaf, butterhead, cos, Romaine, or iceberg can be easily cross-pollinated with each other. If growing more than one variety for seed, the best strategy is to allow only one variety to be in flower at a time.
