Loofah, also called ‘Luffa’ or ‘Sponge Gourd’, is a fast-growing vine that needs support. Fruit can be eaten young, 10–15cm, like zucchini, or left to dry on the vine. Young shoots, leaves and flower buds are edible. Mature fruits produce “loofah” which can be used as a sponge. This particular variety is unknown.
