Description
Melon ‘Honeydew’ is an old, heirloom, summer fruiting vine. If grown vertically, it will need support. The large fruit grows up to 20cm in diameter. This variety has pale coloured skin and green flesh. The flavour is sweet and similar to, but milder than, rockmelon.
Honeydew melons can cross-pollinate with other Cucumis melo species, like rockmelon, ‘Santa Claus’, and ‘Sakata’. Cucumis melo cannot easily be crossed with watermelon (except in a laboratory).
