Description
Pumpkin ‘Butternut Waltham’ has a sweet, nutty flavour. Fruits have pale skin, orange flesh and a small seed cavity. In a good season, fruit may grow up to 25cm long or 2kg in weight. This variety has a good storage life.
This variety of pumpkin will cross-pollinate with any other variety of Cucurbita moschata, including some squash and zucchini, but not with pumpkins of the species C. pepo or C. maxima. If you are collecting seeds and concerned about cross-pollination, please refer to the Latin name of squash, pumpkin and/or zucchini plants before growing.
