Description

Pumpkin ‘Butternut’ is a pear-shaped fruit up to 2kg. It has pale skin and orange flesh, with a sweet, nutty flavour. Sometimes called ‘Butternut Squash’. Because of its thin skin, this is not a good variety for storing long-term.

This variety of pumpkin will cross-pollinate with any other variety of Cucurbita moschata, including some squash and zucchini, but not with pumpkins of the species C. pepo or C. maxima. If you are collecting seeds and concerned about cross-pollination, please refer to the Latin name of squash, pumpkin and/or zucchini plants before growing.
