Description
Pumpkin ‘Queensland Blue’ is an heirloom developed in Queensland. It is a medium to large fruit with blue-grey skin and sweet orange flesh. This variety is susceptible to mildew; avoid overhead watering. The vine can be grown on trellis to create more air flow. ‘Queensland Blue’ can be stored for up to six months.
This variety of pumpkin will cross-pollinate with any other variety of Cucurbita maxima but not with pumpkins of the species C. pepo or C. moschata. If you are collecting seeds and concerned about cross-pollination, please refer to the Latin name of squash, pumpkin and/or zucchini plants before growing.
