Description
Rockmelon ‘Casaba’ originated in Türkiye. The fruit weighs up to 3.5kg and has a tough, wrinkled rind which matures to yellow. The flesh is white and aromatic. This variety is blight-resistant and stores well.
Vines can be trained to grow vertically, saving space and increasing airflow. Support fruit in nets.
All varieties of rockmelon can cross-pollinate with other Cucumis melo varieties, which includes melons like honeydew and ‘Santa Claus’. Rockmelons cannot easily be crossed with watermelon (except in a laboratory).
