Description
Strawberry Spinach is a fast-growing, cool-season annual herb to 50cm. It has green, toothed leaves which can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach. The red strawberry-like, sweet fruits can be eaten raw or cooked. The plant is relatively small, easy to grow, and can be grown in containers. Although it prefers full sun in cooler weather, in a hot western Sydney summer, morning sun is best. Heat will make the plant bolt (produce berries and go to seed).
