Description

Tomato ‘Isis Candy’ is an indeterminate (climbing) variety that will need support. It is highly productive over an extended period. The fruit is cherry-sized; the colour is yellow covered with orange and red marbling (streaks); the flesh is yellow. The star-burst pattern and sweet flavour make them a hit with the kids. This variety has good disease resistance.
NOTE: The name of this variety was given by the plant breeder. It may refer to the Egyptian goddess, Isis. It has nothing to do with the organisation of the same name, which did not exist when the variety was bred in 1992.
Some members of the seed/plant community are now calling this variety by other names, like “Starburst Candy”. PSW will continue to use the name given by the breeder.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
