Description
Tomato ‘Periforme Abruzzese’, also sold as ‘Granny’s Throwing Tomato’, is a determinate, bush-type plant growing to about one metre. It can be grown in a large container. The fruit is large, pear-shaped and fluted, with thick flesh and few seeds, making it ideal for sauces. This variety produces most of its fruit all at once; succession sow to extend harvest time.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
