Description
Tomato ‘Santorini’ is a Greek heirloom, well adapted to dry conditions. It is an indeterminate (climbing) vine that needs support. The red fruits are unusual: deeply ribbed, flattened globes to about 6cm in diameter. The taste is sweet and slightly acidic. This variety is ideal for salads, bottling, purée, paste or juice.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
