Description
Pak Choi ‘Chokito’ is a fast-growing Asian vegetable. This variety has green leaves with lighter green stems. The vegetable can be eaten raw or cooked by steaming or stir-frying. It is best picked at around 15cm tall; however, to extend the harvest, pick only the outer leaves as needed and leave the heart to continue growing. Can also be spelt ‘pak choy’.
This variety can cross-pollinate with other varieties of Pak Choi, and other Brassica rapa plants, such as other Asian vegetables (Bok Choy, Choi Sum, Tatsoi), turnips, rapini (raab), and mustards grown for edible leaves.
Like all brassicas, Pak Choi needs protection from cabbage butterflies and moths, and cabbage aphids.
