Description
‘Crimson Flowered’ broad bean is a rare heirloom variety from the 1700s. They are smaller plants than white flowering broad beans, growing to only about 1 metre high. The pods yield, on average, 3 to 5 beans each. The crimson-red flowers are so attractive, the plants could be grown in the ornamental garden. Beans may be cooked when young or harvested when dried for later use.
Slugs and snails love fresh young growth and will climb high to get it.
Since there are only five seeds per packet, it would be a good idea to buy two packets.
