Passionfruit ‘Green fruited” is NOT edible. Its botanical name literally means “stinking passionfruit”. It is an American species grown to attract pollinators and beneficial insects to the garden. Can also be used as a screening plant when grown over a trellis. Said to be carnivorous because of sticky bracts around flower which trap insects. Vigorous grower which can quickly become rampant.
