Description

Pea ‘Capucijner’ is an heirloom from the Netherlands. It is a strong climber to 2 metres and will need support. The fragrant pink flowers give way to purple pods, which in turn bear olive-green seeds. The pods can be eaten as snow peas, or later as shelling peas; pick often to extend harvest. Capucijner is a good variety for storing as dried peas. If growing for dried peas or seed collection, leave pods on the plant until the plant has died off. The pods should be dry, brown in colour and the peas inside should rattle.
