Description

Tomato ‘Brown Berry’ is a rare variety. Please do not attempt to purchase seed unless you have donated seed to the seedbank in the last three years. ‘Brown Berry’ is an indeterminate (climbing) vine to 1.5 metres, that will need support. The cherry-type fruit are brownish-red with a sweet and tangy flavour. This variety was bred near the town of Berry, on the New South Wales south coast.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
