Description
Tomato ‘Pink Pearl’ is a rare variety, commercially introduced worldwide in 2008; in Australia, specifically to aid breast cancer research. Climbing (indeterminate) plant to 2 metres, needs support. High-yielding plant producing pink–red cherry-sized fruit which look like mini-beefsteak tomatoes.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
