Description
Tomato ‘Principe Borghese’ is an Italian heirloom. It is a determinate (bush) type to 1.5 metres and may need staking. The plants can be grown in large containers. All the fruit comes to maturity in a short period of time. The fruit is small, grape-shaped and quite dry with very few seeds. The flavour is rich. This variety is popular for drying or sauces. Succession sow to increase length of harvest.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
