Description

Tomato ‘San Marzano’ is an Italian heirloom, an indeterminate (climbing) vine to 1.5 metres that will need support. ‘San Marzano’ is a paste-type tomato, ideal for making sauces and passata. The vine bears heavy yields of red, cylindrical fruit that are 7–15cm long.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
