Description

Beetroot ‘Giant Yellow Eckendorf’ is also known as ‘Mangel Wurzel’. Heirloom; hardy biennial usually grown as an annual. Edible leaves cooked as spinach. Very large yellow roots, in excess of 15kg, grown as animal feed. Young roots can be eaten as beetroot. Best suited to cooler climates. Stores well. Can be used to produce mangel wine. Soak seeds overnight before sowing.
