Description
Turnip ‘Tokyo Market’ is a Japanese turnip. Plant grows up to 30cm. Mild, juicy, white flattened globe type, 7–10cm across. Baby roots can be grated into salad. Young leaves can be steamed or used in stir-fry dishes.
Turnips can cross-pollinate each other, and other Brassica rapa plants, such as Asian vegetables (Bok Choi, Pak Choi, Tatsoi) and mustards grown for edible leaves.
Like all brassicas, turnips need protection from cabbage butterflies and moths, and cabbage aphids.
