Illawarra Flame Tree is an Australian native, known for its bright red flowers in late spring, early summer. The flowers are followed by large, leathery seed capsules. The seeds themselves look like corn kernels. Trees can grow up to 10 metres, and may have invasive roots so keep away from house foundations and sewer lines.
