Description
Kohlrabi ‘White Vienna’ is an annual vegetable to 30cm tall. The greenish-white swelling, which forms above the ground, can be eaten raw, in salad or slaw, or cooked: stir-fry or steam. It has a mild flavour.
Kohlrabi can cross-pollinate with each other, and other Brassica oleracea plants, such as broccoli, cabbage, collards, and kale. If growing for seed production, allow only one variety to go to flower at a time.
Like all brassicas, kohlrabi needs protection from cabbage butterflies and moths, and cabbage aphids.
