Description
Pak Choi, literally ‘white vegetable’, is a fast-growing Asian vegetable to 30-45cm tall. It has green leaves and white stems. Eat raw or cook by steaming or stir-frying. Can be spelt ‘pak choy’.
This variety can cross-pollinate with other varieties of Pak Choi, and other Brassica rapa plants, such as other Asian vegetables (Bok Choy, Choi Sum, Tatsoi), turnips, rapini (raab), and mustards grown for edible leaves.
Like all brassicas, Pak Choi needs protection from cabbage butterflies and moths, and cabbage aphids.
