Description
Rock Soapwort is a perennial, clumping plant to 15cm–20cm, which prefers a sunny, free-draining position. It is ideal for growing between pavers, on rock walls or in containers where it is allowed to spill over the edge. The pink flowers appear in late spring and/or early summer. Leaves can be soaked to make a liquid soap.
NOTE: Store seeds in fridge for 3 weeks before sowing.
Interesting fact: soap made from Saponaria plants is still used to clean antique tapestries. (source: gatherforager.com)
