Description

Silverbeet ‘Orange Fantasia’ is a very productive plant to 60cm with dark-green, crinkled leaves and orange stalks. The stalks keep their colour when cooked. This is a good variety for baby leaves. Harvest leaves as needed and leave the plant in the ground to extend the growing season. Roots can be pickled.
Botanically, silverbeet is the same plant as chard. Although both are often called ‘spinach’, neither is related to true spinach.
Silverbeet, like chard, is the same species as beetroot; all can cross-pollinate. Being biennial, the seeds are not produced until the second year.
