Snow Pea ‘Yakumo’, originally from Japan, is a cool-season crop. ‘Yakumo’ is a vigorous climbing plant to 2 metres and will need support. Large purple flowers are followed by long pods to 15cm. The pods are tender and can be eaten raw or cooked. Harvest often to extend the season.
Peas are self-fertile but there is a possibility of cross-pollination between all pea varieties, both snap peas and shelling peas.
