Description

Tomato ‘Violet Jasper’, also known as ‘Purple Jasper’, is an heirloom, indeterminate (climbing) to 1.5 metres, which needs support. It is a very prolific variety producing decorative, golf-ball-sized, purple-red fruit with green stripes. The taste is rich and tangy with low acidity.
Tomatoes are “buzz pollinated”. Cross-pollination is unusual but it can happen if there are bees, particularly the Australian native blue-banded bee going from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another.
