Description
Cossack Pineapple is a variety of “ground cherry”, similar to Cape Gooseberry. This is a low growing, sprawling annual, 30-60cm tall. The golden coloured fruits are encased in a papery, lantern-shaped cover and have a taste reminiscent of pineapple. Ripe fruit will have a golden brown covering, and fall to the ground. Will store at room temperature for several weeks. Serve fresh in salsa, on a fruit platter, or make into jam.
